Dania Beach sits on the Intracoastal just south of Port Everglades, with the Dania Cut-off Canal linking several marinas to the ICW. Dania Beach Marina keeps 120 wet slips to 65 feet and 7 free public day docks; Harbour Towne Marina is a full-service boatyard with a 70-ton travel lift, three unobstructed miles from the Atlantic; MarineMax East Florida Yacht Center and Nautical Ventures Marine Center both sit on the Dania Cut-off Canal.
That combination, a boatyard with a 70-ton lift alongside dealer and retail marine centers, makes Dania Beach more of a repair-and-refit cluster than a resort-marina stretch, which is also why free public day docks matter here: they're the easiest way for a visiting boat to tie up without a slip.
Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park, at 6503 N Ocean Dr in Dania Beach, is still widely known by its old name, John U. Lloyd Beach State Park. It was renamed in 2016. The park runs its own two-lane boat ramp with courtesy docks, separate from Dania Beach Marina's free public day docks a few miles north, so a trailer boat in Dania Beach actually has two very different public launch points: a state park and a city marina.
The Dania Cut-off Canal, which links Harbour Towne Marina and the other yards here to the Intracoastal, runs shallow enough at its bridges that clearance changes meaningfully with the tide, boaters report real headroom closer to 10 feet at low tide versus well under that at high tide. That tide-dependent clearance is part of daily planning for anyone running a taller boat in and out of this canal.
